Maxx New York has a stellar handbag collection , and I am very honored to be lucky enough to conduct a giveaway of two (out of the tons ) of my favorite styles from the collection. I chose one more appropriate for the current Summer season, and the other for the upcoming Fall season.

This bag reminds me of Sunday brunch! I love the bright blue color, and it will definitely light up any ensemble . I love how this bag can work with jeans and a tee, as well as a pretty floral dress. A def must on anyone's shopping list.

I love this bag, from the edgy stud detail on the side it's a bit subtle , but sometimes sublte is better. I just love big bags, cause you can carry everything from an extra pair of shoes ( to transition from day to evening) to just about anything - and it all fits!!

Treat Your Locks As You Sleep !!!!

Real Control Overnight Treat - Redken ( $20)

Already a fan of the Real Control line by Redken, I had to give this Overnight Treatment a shot. So I performed an experiment where myself (Subject A) , and my contributor (we'll call her Subject B) both tried out this conditioner to compare and contrast results.

Subject A

Hair type - Thick , Coarse , Stressed , and Dry from over-use of heat styling products. Already uses Real Control line - Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Mask.

Results - I actually left it in my hair for the entire day , because I had no time to wash and style my hair that morning - which I found to be to my benefit.. I found the conditioner to also work as a detangler, hardly had to comb through my hair once it was rinsed out. It stayed very soft and manageable even after I washed my hair a second time from the initial time ( when the treatment was placed) . It is definitely going to be incorporated in my hair regimen. My hair also had tons of shine.. my hair did not look dull or dry at all.

Subject B

Hair type - Medium textured, Lacks Volume and Body. Also stressed from over-use of heat styling products.

Results - She was a bit skeptical about what the results, because she never really likes how her hair turns out when she does it herself. To her surprise , she found her hair to be full of shine , and (surprise) a lot more body and bounce was presented when she styled her hair.

Here's a little background information on the mastermind behind the hair that graced the A/W 09 runways .

Guido
Redken Creative Consultant

Growing up in Dorset, England, Guido was always inquisitive about style and inspired by
fashion and beauty magazines featuring the works of notables such as Barry Lategan,
Bruce Webber and Dutch hairstylist Christian whose freestyle approach pushed
boundaries of his time. It was during the early eighties when subculture movements like
New Wave, Indie and Goth co-existed and shaped a creative set that changed hair
trends in cutting and coloring. All this, sparked Guido’s interest in hairdressing. Guido
began training at Vidal Sassoon in London in 1983, then worked at the Clifford Stafford
salon and eventually hooked up with David Sims who was an assistant photographer at
the time. From their collaborations, he discovered his eye and love for hair in fashion.
Now, Guido is considered to be one of the world’s most conceptual hairstylists. Having a
strong presence in the industry for over 20 years, Guido has brought his radically
expressive style to runway shows, fashion advertising campaigns and editorial work for
such noted magazines as American, Italian and French Vogue, W and Allure
Guido’s artistic and technical design skills led him to partner with Redken as the brand’s
Creative Consultant in 2005. Since then, he has worked hand-in-hand with Redken,
providing seasonal hair trends, acting as a brand ambassador at editorial photo shoots
and fashion shows, representing Redken in the media, and creating key looks for Redken campaigns.

His client roster includes A-list designers like Prada, Versace, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein,
Lanvin, Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier, Miu Miu, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Donna Karan,
Louis Vuitton, and Robert Cavalli. He works regularly with renowned photographers
including, Steve Meisel, David Sims, and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.

FASHION DELIVERS Pay IT Forward Event

MISSION

The mission of Fashion delivers Charitable Foundation, inc. is to unify the men’s and women’s apparel and home industries to donate new product in order to aid victims of disasters and individuals in need throughout the year.

This year Fashion Delivers was honoring 5 up-and-coming industry leaders are recognized for using their fashion skills for the greater good at the Pay It Forward Event . This years honorees included : I/denti/tee, Linda Loudermilk, Philanthropist , Chloe Jo Berman and The Jones Apparel Group . This fabulous event was hosted by LL Cool J , and also featured a performance from the band Tamarama ( remember Whitney from "The City"'s hot beau??? Yup.. his band performed , and they were good actually!) This was a an amazing event, and the best part is that it is open to the public ( us consumers ) to attend !!! So for the Third Annual Pay It Forward event , you should make it a DEF must on your calender of things "to do" !!!
